The Deans International Doctoral Scholarships (FMHS) were established in 2011 and are funded by the Faculty of Medical and Health Sciences at the University of Auckland. The main purpose of the Scholarships is to attract international students of high calibre to pursue a research doctoral degree in the Faculty of Medical and Health Sciences.
Study Subjects and Level:
Scholarships are provided within the Faculty of Medical and Health Sciences at University of Auckland. The Scholarships are available for studying a research doctoral degree at University of Auckland.
The Scholarships will be awarded to students who have paid the fees, or arranged to pay the fees, for full-time enrollment in a PhD degree in the Faculty of Medical and Health Sciences at The University of Auckland. The Scholarships are tenable only by students who are neither citizens nor permanent residents of New Zealand or Australia, and comply with the requirements of the domestic fees policy for PhD students.
Scholarship Open for:
International students (except New Zealand or Australian students) can apply for these doctoral scholarships.
Number of Scholarships: 3 doctoral scholarships will be offered.
Scholarship Duration:
These doctoral scholarships are offered for up to 36 months.
Scholarship Value:
Scholarships include up to $25,000 stipend, compulsory fees, relocation grant, travel allowance and health insurance.
Selection Criteria:
Selection will be based on academic merit (measured by the grade point average assessed over the applicant’s two most recent years of equivalent full-time study), quality of the applicant’s research proposal and endorsements by the proposed supervisor and Head of School.
Notification:
Successful applicants will be notified approximately six weeks after the closing date by letter or email.

Application is made to the Scholarships Office. Applicants must also complete and submit an Application for Admission (AfA) online.
