"Fulbright Vietnamese Student Scholarship Program"The Fulbright Faculty Development Program (FFDP) is designed for junior teaching faculty (no older than 39 years by the application deadline), who must be teaching at institutions of higher education in Russia. Applicants should have a minimum of 3 years of full-time teaching experience at an institution of higher education (not including practicum teaching required for initial degree of higher education), intend to return to their home institution upon completion of the Program, reengage in teaching activities, and implement newly gained knowledge and experience gained on this program. The goal of the Fulbright Faculty Development Program (FFDP) is to introduce participants to best practices and theoretical approaches to curriculum development in the US and provide them with concrete strategies on how to develop curriculum for a course, including an overview of academic and research resources. During the program, FFDP fellows will be expected to research and develop a course description, syllabus and outline specific teaching strategies for their proposed course. By the completion of the Program, grantees will present their newly developed curriculum at the workshop planned to be held in the mid of January at IIE New York.

Study Subjects and Level:

The Fulbright Faculty Development Program (FFDP) grants are obtainable in all fields of study listed for Fulbright Graduate Student and Scholar Programs in Russia. The Fulbright Faculty Development Program (FFDP) is designed for junior teaching faculty.

Eligibility:

  • Citizenship and permanent resident status qualifying the applicant to hold a valid passport issued in Russia. Persons applying for or holding permanent residence in the United States are not eligible. Persons who are citizens of both a partner country and the United States are also ineligible.
  • Date of birth not earlier than June 15, 1975.
  • All candidates must either have their diploma of higher education or BA.
  • Candidates must be actively lecturing or teaching and should have not less than 3 years of full-time teaching experience at the institution of higher education.
  • Program supports curriculum development ONLY not dissertation research (dissertation research candidates should apply for the student program).
  • Candidates must propose clear concept of course for development, its importance to their institution, and plans for implementation upon return to Russia.
  • Fulbright Grantees enter the United States on an Exchange Visitor (J-1) visa under a Department of State program and are subject to the two-year home-country residence requirement associated with the J-1 visa. For those candidates who have already traveled to the US on a J-1 visa, there should be a minimum of two years at the time of application since your return to Russia.

Scholarship Duration: FFDP grant duration is 5 months.

Scholarship Value:

The grant includes a monthly stipend, medical insurance and transportation costs.
