In order to attract more outstanding international students to study at Nanjing University of Science and Technology (NUST), Nanjing Government and NUST have jointly set up the scholarship program
Study Subjects and Level:
Scholarships are provided to study any of the courses offered by the Nanjing University of Science and Technology. The Scholarships are obtainable for studying undergraduate, postgraduate and PhD degree at Nanjing University of Science and Technology (NUST).
Eligibility:
- Applicants must be non-Chinese nationals and in good health.
- Education background and age limit:
- Applicants for undergraduate programs must have senior high school diploma when registered and be under the age of 28;
- Applicants for master degree program must have bachelor degree when registered and be under the age of 35;
- Applicants for doctoral degree program must have master degree when registered and be under the age of 40
- Applicants should have a competitive academic record.
Scholarship Open for:
International students can apply for these scholarships.
Number of Scholarships:
30 students for doctoral degree, 70 students for masters degree and 100 students for undergraduate program will be selected.
Scholarship Duration:
- Doctoral Degree Students: 4 academic years
- Master’s Degree Students: 2.5 academic years
- Bachelor’s Degree Students: 4 academic years
Note: Scholarship students who choose program taught in Chinese language are required to take one-year remedial Chinese language courses and pass the relevant test prior to the studies in their specialties. For those who take the one-year remedial Chinese language courses, the duration of the scholarship will be extended correspondingly.
Scholarship students must go through the Annual Review of the NMG-NUST Joint Scholarship Status. Scholarship will be terminated if the student fails to fulfill the requirements.
Scholarship Value:
Scholarships for international students will be awarded as follows:
1) Full scholarship:
- Tuition and fees for registration, laboratory experiments, internship, basic learning materials and intramural accommodation;
- Living allowance: CNY 2,000 per month for doctoral students; CNY 1,700 per month for master’s degree students; CNY 1,400 per month for bachelor’s degree students;
- Intramural accommodation: Single room for doctoral students; Double-bed room for master’s and bachelor’s degree students;
- By showing Family Membership Certificate issued by China Embassy or General Consulate, married graduates who carry with family members can ask for accommodation allowance from NUST. CNY10,000 per year for doctoral students; CNY 5,000 per year for master’s degree students;
- Fees for outpatient medical services and Comprehensive Medical Insurance and Benefit Plan for International Students in China;
- The one-off settlement subsidy for new students after registration: CNY 1,500 per person.
2) Partial scholarship:
- Tuition and fees for registration, laboratory experiments, internship, basic learning
- Comprehensive Medical Insurance and Benefit Plan for International Students in China;
Notification:
Successful applicants will be notified in July 20, 2014. The result will be published on the university website AND sent to applicants via E-mail (please ensure your email address is correct). NUST will send the Admission Notice and JW202 form once we get the confirmation from winners by the email.
How to Apply?
Applicants can submit the application materials to the School of International Education, Nanjing University of Science & Technology, by post mail or in person. Applicants must provide the following documents (each in duplicate):
- Application Form for Nanjing Municipal Government – Nanjing University of Science & Technology Joint Scholarship Program for International Student (download: application form from the official website) filled in Chinese or in English.
- Photocopy of the applicant’s passport.
- Highest diploma (notarized photocopy). If applicants are university students, they must also provide documents showing their status as university students or School Transfer Certificate. Documents in languages other than Chinese or English must be attached with translation in Chinese or in English.
- Applicants for doctoral studies need to provide notarized copies of their undergraduate and graduate transcripts.
- Applicants for master degree studies need to provide notarized copies of their undergraduate transcripts.
- Applicants for bachelor degree studies need to provide notarized copies of their high school transcripts.
