Chinese Government Scholarship—Bilateral Program includes a full or partial scholarship established by MOE in accordance with educational exchange agreements or MOUs between Chinese government and governments of other countries, institutions, universities and international organizations. This includes full or partial scholarships in accordance with educational exchange agreements or MOUs between the Chinese government and governments of other countries, institutions, universities and international organizations. It supports undergraduate programs, master’s programs, doctoral programs, general scholar programs and senior scholar programs. Applicants shall apply to the dispatching authorities for overseas study in their home countries.
Study Subjects and Level:
Scholarship is provided to study any of the courses which is offered by Chinese Universities. This Scholarship supports undergraduate programs, masters programs, doctoral programs, general scholar programs and senior scholar programs.
Eligibility:
To be eligible, applicants must:
- be a citizen of a country other than the People’s Republic of China and be in good health;
- be a high school graduate under the age of 25 when applying for undergraduate programs;
- be a bachelor’s degree holder under the age of 35 when applying for master’s programs;
- be a master’s degree holder under the age of 40 when applying for doctoral programs;
- be under the age of 45 and have completed at least two years of undergraduate study when applying for general scholar programs;
- be a master’s degree holder or an associate professor (or above) under the age of 50 when applying for senior scholar programs.
Scholarship Open for: International students (non-Chinese citizens) can apply for this scholarship.
Scholarship Duration:
Scholarship is offered for undergraduate program: up to 4—7 years.
- Master program: up to 2—5 years
- Doctoral program: up to 3—6 years
- Chinese language training program: up to 2 years
- General scholar program: up to 2 years
- Senior scholar program: up to 2 years.
Scholarship Value:
Full scholarship includes
- a waiver of fee for registration, tuition, laboratory experiments, internship and basic textbooks;
- free on-campus dormitory accommodation;
- monthly living allowance;
- one-off settlement subsidy;
- outpatient medical service and Comprehensive Medical Insurance and Protection Scheme for International Students in China;
- one-off inter-city travel reimbursement.
- Partial scholarship includes one or some items of the full scholarship items.
Notification:
CSC will send, before July 31st, the List of Scholarship Winners, Admission Letter and Visa Application Form for Study in China (JW201) to the Chinese Embassy (Consulate General), who will forward the documents to the dispatching authorities for overseas study or the scholarship winners.
How to Apply?
Applicants consult the dispatching authorities for overseas study in their home countries for the details and requirements of Bilateral Program and submit the application as required. Once recommended by the dispatching authorities, candidates shall contact their target university for Admission Letter. Recommended candidates must finish the online application procedure at CSC Online Application System for International Students. A package of complete application documents must be submitted to the dispatching authorities in their home countries before the deadline. (Please check Application Documents for the detailed checklist.). CSC does not accept any individual application other than the recommended applications from the dispatching authorities. Candidates with Admission Letter will be placed in the host university; those without Admission Letter should follow CSC’s placement.
Application Deadline:
Applicants should apply to the dispatching authorities for overseas study in their home countries between January and early April.
