The University of Manchester offering up to four scholarships for full-time, postgraduate taught master’s to applicants from Bangladesh starting in September 2015. The scholarships cover full tuition fees, return international air fares and living expenses.
Study Subjects:
Scholarships are only available for specific courses in engineering, environment, medical and life sciences, and education. Scholarships are not available for business and finance courses.
Study Level:
Scholarships are available for students to undertake postgraduate masters degrees that are not available in their home country and which are intended to fill a particular skills gap. Awards are also available for study by distance learning.
Eligibility to apply:
Our master’s scholarships are aimed at academically excellent, young professionals with at least two years’ post-graduation work experience. Applicants must:
- be a resident citizen of Bangladesh and have not previously studied abroad;
- have a bachelor’s degree with a minimum overall score of 70% for science and engineering courses. Applicants who are interested in education and social sciences courses must have a master’s degree with a minimum overall score of 55%.
- have a minimum of two years’ relevant work experience;
- be committed to returning home and able to demonstrate his/her potential to make a positive impact on the future of Bangladesh;
- have a minimum overall IELTS score of 6.5. However, please be aware that some courses require a score of 7.0.
You may take your IELTS test in Dhaka, Chittagong, Khulna, Rajshahi or Sylhet. Please check the British Council website for dates and further details.

The scholarships cover full tuition fees, return international air fares and living expenses.
How to apply?
Applications for 2015/16 scholarships will open on 2 February 2015.
It is not necessary to have an offer of admission to apply for the scholarship. Please do not apply online for academic admission.
