The School of Education invites applications for an MPhil scholarship on the subject of the ‘Best Model of Pedagogy for Initial Teacher Education and Training’ in the Primary Education sector. This opportunity has arisen as a result of concerns expressed in the Tabberer report.
Study Subjects and Level:
Scholarships are awarded to study any of the courses offered by the Bangor University. The Scholarships are obtainable for studying MPhil/ PhD degree at Bangor University in UK.
Eligibility:
- Good first degree (at least upper second class) in a relevant subject area.
- Excellent spoken and written communication skills.
- An understanding of current issues in training primary teachers and of the bilingual environment of North and Mid Wales.
Scholarship Value:
The successful candidate will receive:
- full remission of fees
- an annual stipend at current research council rates for PhD students (approx £14,000)
- research expenses of up to £1,500 per annum
- the opportunity to be considered for a scholarship for a third year of study in order to obtain a doctorate
Notification:
Shortlisting will be carried out as soon as possible after the closing date by a panel of staff in the School of Education and shortlisted candidates will then be interviewed.
