Nottingham Trent University is offering 36 Fully-Funded Vice-Chancellors PhD Scholarships. The scholarships will pay UK/EU fees and provide a maintenance stipend linked to the RCUK rate (currently £13,726 per annum) for up to three years.
Study Subjects and Level:
Scholarships are awarded within the school of Art and Design, Education and Arts and Humanities at Nottingham Trent University.
Scholarships are to study PhD degree.
- Vice-Chancellors PhD Scholarships, Art and Design: Applications can be accepted from UK/EU and also International students. The minimum English language proficiency requirement for candidates who have not undertaken a higher degree at a UK HE institution is an overall IELTS (International English Language Testing System) score of 6.5 with minimum sub-scores of 6.0 in all component sections (writing, reading, listening and speaking) or an overall TOEFL score of 94-95 (internet based – IBT) with a minimum score of 22 in each of the four components.
- Vice-Chancellor’s PhD Scholarships, Education: The School of Education invites applications from well qualified candidates, who have or expect to graduate with good first degrees or masters level qualifications, to undertake doctoral studies in a range of the School’s subject areas.
- Vice-Chancellor’s PhD Scholarships, Arts and Humanities: The School of Arts and Humanities invites applications from well qualified candidates, who have or expect to graduate with good Masters level qualifications, to undertake doctoral studies in a range of the School’s subject areas.
Scholarship Open for:
UK/EU students are eligible for all available Fully-Funded Vice-Chancellors PhD Scholarships but international students can apply for fully-funded Vice-Chancellor’s PhD Scholarships for Education.
Number of Scholarships:
36 fully funded PhD Scholarships will be awarded.
- 12 fully-funded Vice-Chancellor’s PhD Scholarships for Art and Design.
- 12 fully-funded Vice-Chancellor’s PhD Scholarships for Education.
- 12 fully-funded Vice-Chancellor’s PhD Scholarships for Arts and Humanities.
Scholarship Duration: These fully funded scholarships are offered for up to three years.

- Vice-Chancellors PhD Scholarships, Art and Design: The scholarships will pay UK/EU fees and provide a maintenance stipend linked to the RCUK rate (currently £13,726 per annum) for up to three years.
- Vice-Chancellor’s PhD Scholarships, Education: The scholarships will pay UK/EU fees and provide a maintenance stipend linked to the RCUK rate (currently £13,726 per annum) for up to three years. Applications from non-EU students are welcome, but a successful candidate would be responsible for paying the difference between non-EU and UK/EU fees.
- Vice-Chancellor’s PhD Scholarships, Arts and Humanities: The scholarships will pay UK/EU fees and provide a maintenance stipend linked to the RCUK rate (£13,726 per annum for 2013/14) for up to three years.

To apply for these scholarships, you should submit a fully completed application form, copies of your academic certificates, copies of your English Language Proficiency certificates (if applicable) and your research proposal to the Graduate School.
