The International Scholarship Scheme has been designed in line with the St Mary’s mission. Education, social commitment and service to our local and global communities are important elements of our values. Candidates are invited to formulate their study and career plans accordingly.
Study Subjects and Level:
Scholarships are provided to study any of the courses offered by the St Mary’s University College. The Scholarships are available for studying undergraduate and postgraduate degree at St Mary’s University College in Uk.
Undergraduate Scholarships:
- Best Academic Results: Available to the three applicants who have the best overall marks in their most recently awarded qualification. In order to be considered you must submit: a certified copy of your most recent qualification along with an official transcript from the institution it was awarded by and a personal statement outlining your study and career objectives in line with St Mary’s missions.
- Best Sports Performance: Available to the applicant with the best sports performance record. In order to be considered you must submit: evidence of your outstanding sports performance and a written reference by a professional in the field and a personal statement outlining your study and career objectives in line with St. Mary’s missions.
- Best English Language Skills: Available to the applicant with the best skills in English Language. In order to be considered for this scholarship you must submit: a copy of your English certificate and a personal statement outlining your study and career objectives in line with St Mary’s missions.
- Chaplaincy Ambassador: The successful candidate will become the St.Mary’s International Chaplaincy Ambassador. Being a Catholic University College, the Chaplaincy is at the heart of our work and mission. We would like to encourage you to get involved and help this important service at St. Mary’s. In order to be considered for this scholarship you need to submit: a personal statement where you explain how you think you could contribute and what suggestions and improvements you might bring to the existing service.
- International Students’ Union Ambassador: The successful candidate will become the St Mary’s International Chaplaincy Ambassador. Being a Catholic University College, the Chaplaincy is at the heart of our work and mission. We would like to encourage you to get involved and help this important service at St. Mary’s. In order to be considered for this scholarship you need to submit: a personal statement demonstrating your enthusiasm for contributing to our campus community explaining what impact your ideas might have on the service. At the end of the first semester we will receive an evaluation report from the Students’ Union President on your help and involvement. The scholarship amount will then be applied to your fees.
Postgraduate Scholarships:
- Academic Excellence in First Degree: Available to the five applicants who have the best overall marks in their most recently awarded qualification. In order to be considered you must submit: a certified copy of your most recent qualification along with an official transcript from the institution it was awarded by and a personal statement outlining your study and career objectives in line with St Mary’s missions.
- Financial Need: In order to be considered for this scholarship, you must submit: a statement demonstrating how you fulfill the specific requirement and how your study and career plans fall in line with St. Mary’s mission.
- Alumni: Available to two applicants who previously studied at St. Mary’s and graduated before 2014. In order to be considered for this scholarship, you must submit: a certified copy of your most recent qualification along with an official transcript and a statement demonstrating hour you fulfill the specific requirement and how your study and career plans fall in line with St. Mary’s mission.
- Progressing St Mary’s overseas undergraduate: Available to two applicants who are currently studying at St Mary’s. In order to be considered for this scholarship, you must submit: a statement demonstrating how you fulfill the specific requirement and how your study and career plans fall in line with St Mary’s mission.
- Catholic Church Scholarship: Available to two applicants sponsored by the Catholic Church. Your sponsor and referee may be your local priest or a senior member of the Catholic Church. In order to be considered for this scholarship, you must submit: a reference by a member of the clergy, Curriculum Vitae and a statement demonstrating how your study and career plans are in line with St Mary’s mission.

Total 17 scholarships for international students are available as follows:
- Undergraduate Scholarships: Seven (Best Academic Results: 3, Best Sports Performance: 1, Best English Language Skills: 1, Chaplaincy Ambassador: 1 and International Students’ Union Ambassador: 1)
- Postgraduate Scholarships: Ten (Academic Excellence in First Degree: 5, Financial Need: 1, Alumni: 2, Progressing St Mary’s overseas undergraduate: 2 and Catholic Church Scholarship: 2)
Scholarship Value:
Seven undergraduate scholarships of £1,000 each and ten postgraduate scholarships of £3,000 each will be awarded.
