The Sir Ratan Tata Foundation and the London School of Economics & Political Science (LSE) invites applications for the Sir Ratan Tata Fellowship, now in its eighteenth year. Applicants should be scholars in the social sciences with experience of research on South Asia. They should hold a PhD – the fellowship is not intended for students registered for a degree or diploma, nor is it intended for senior academics.
Study Subjects and Level:
The Fellow will be expected to engage in social science research broadly on the themes of Economy and Society in South Asia with a particular focus on the following themes: Growth and inclusion, Climate change and environmental sustainability, Social and human security, Population and development and Governance and democracy. The Fellowships are obtainable for pursuing research program.
Eligibility:

Scholarship Open for:
Applicants of Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan and Sri Lanka can apply for these research fellowships.
Scholarship Duration:
Fellowships are awarded up to eight months.
Scholarship Value:
The Fellow will receive a monthly subsistence allowance of up to £1,500 a month, the exact amount depending on qualifications, and will also be provided with shared office space and access to research facilities at the School.
Notification:
The successful candidate will be informed of the decision by the end of July 2014.

- a curriculum vitae of no more than three pages
- an outline of proposed research of no more than three pages
- names and addresses of two referees, familiar with their work, to be contacted by the Committee.
