The Mendelson scholarship program is an undergraduate scholarship scheme offered through the Max and Bette Mendelson Foundation. Each year they determine the number and value of scholarships awarded on the advice of the Management Committee of the Max and Bette Mendelson Foundation.

Study Subjects and Level:

Scholarships are provided to study any of the courses offered by the Australian Universities. Scholarships are obtainable for studying undergraduate degree at Australian Universities.

Eligibility:

Applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Be an Australian citizen.
  • Have been a resident of the City of West Torrens for at least three years before the application closing date.
  • Be an undergraduate student in a degree course in South Australia.
  • Be a full-time student as defined by the University for the current academic year.
  • Have completed full-time study for the previous academic year, as defined by the University, if you are a continuing student.

Scholarship Open for:

Students from Australia (resident of the City of West Torrens for at least three years) can apply for these undergraduate scholarships.

Number of Scholarships:

The number of scholarships to be made available in any year is to be determined by the Council.

Scholarship Duration:

The award of the scholarship to each student is for one year. The City of West Torrens will pay the scholarship to the successful applicant in one lump sum. Payment will be made at an award presentation ceremony on a date determined by the Council.

Scholarship Value:

The annual value of a scholarship is determined by the Council.

Selection Criteria:

The selection criteria will include the following:

  • For a commencing student, the level of Tertiary Entrance Rank as determined by the university from time to time.
  • For the continuing student, the level of academic performance during the previous year as determined by the university.
  • Academic merit is the primary criterion. Any particular special need for assistance will also be carefully considered.

You will be notified about the success of your application.
