Curtin University offers the Spatial Sciences Honours Scholarship is to encourage and assist Spatial Sciences students to undertake and maintain progress in a Spatial Sciences honours program at Curtin including geographic information science and surveying.

Study Subjects and Level:

Scholarship is provided to study for Bachelor of Science (Science) (Honours) – Geographic Information Science and Bachelor of Surveying (Honours) programs within in the faculty of Science. The Scholarship is available for studying undergraduate degree at Curtin University in Australia.

Eligibility:

Applicants must meet all of the following criteria to be considered for the Spatial Sciences Honours Scholarship:

  • Australian citizen, Australian permanent resident, the holder of an Australian permanent humanitarian visa, New Zealand citizen or International citizen
  • Enrolled full-time or part-time in an Honours program in the Department of Spatial Sciences
  • Enrolled in a Commonwealth support place at Curtin University and reside within Australia
  • Minimum course weighted average (CWA) of 70
  • Not currently holding an industry sponsored scholarship

Scholarship Open for:

Australian, New Zealand and international students (Enrolled full-time or part-time in an Honours program in the Department of Spatial Science and enrolled in a Commonwealth support place at Curtin University and reside within Australia) can apply for this Honours scholarship.

Scholarship Duration: Scholarship is offered for for up to one year.

Scholarship Value:

The Spatial Sciences Honours Scholarship will provide the following support for up to one year (based on a full-time study load of 100 credits per semester): A total value of up to $6,000 paid as a cash stipend of $3,000 per semester. The amount will be paid pro-rata if the recipient is enrolled in less than 100 credit points.

Selection Criteria:

The Honours scholarship will be awarded on the basis of merit.

Notification:

All applicants will be notified of the outcome of their application via an official communication (OC) through their student Oasis within 6-8 weeks of the closing date.

How to Apply?

An applicant must submit a completed application form with supporting documents attached by 4:00pm on the scholarship closing date, to the Scholarships Office at the Bentley campus.

Incomplete Applications or applications missing documentation will not be assessed.

Applications will be assessed by a selection panel using the following criteria:

  • Responses to questions in application
  • Academic merit

The scholarship(s) will be awarded if there are candidates of sufficient merit.

All applicants will be notified of the outcome of their application via an official communication (OC) through their student Oasis within 6-8 weeks of the closing date.

In order to accept the scholarship, a recipient will be requested to return signed acceptance documents.

Deferral of this scholarship is NOT permitted.

Once the scholarship has been accepted, the scholarship will commence from the semester of award.

This scholarship is not transferable to another major, course, faculty, campus or university.
