The University of Queensland offers undergraduate and postgraduate Medical Scholarships. The cost of rural placement must be covered by the student using the scholarship payments. NB: Cotton Industry Medical Scholarship recipients are unable to concurrently hold a Bush Bursary and CWA Scholarship or John Flynn Scholarship.
Applications are open to medical students who are interested in rural medicine.
Study Level: Undergraduate, Postgraduate Coursework.
To be eligible to apply, students must be an Australian or New Zealand citizen or a permanent resident of Australia and be studying medicine at an Australian Medical School, enrolled in their second year of a post graduate medical degree, third year of a five year medical degree or fourth year of a six year medical degree. Students must demonstrate an understanding of the realities of rural medical practice, both positive and negative, display a commitment to and interest in rural practice and lifestyle, be motivated to undertake rural placements in a NSW cotton growing region and be from a cotton growing area and/or has an understanding of the Cotton Industry.
